House Project #4~Wallpaper Accent

This wallpaper from Farrow & Ball @ The Rue was one of my favorite accents from the Designer House. I had a sliver left over and thought about framing it but decided to hang the piece up in my office.

I used it on one wall in my room at the Designer House. It was the perfect way to create a focal point and enlarge the small space.

FRAMED FABRICS

For my home office I made these framed fabrics with discontinued fabric samples and frames from thrift and antique stores.

Next week: Project #5
Adding a piece of furniture to cover the fact that the wallpaper is not long enough.

Doak likes it a bit crooked! : )

That little accent adds so much to the my office... I love it!

This is the mirror, turned into a frame for the antelope head, that I used at the Designer House.
Loving how the Designer House accents are creeping their way into our own home.

Have a good one!

House Project #3~Cable Spool!

All you need is LOVE.
This pic is perfect for this post b/c yesterday was Thanksgiving and it's all about LOVE! Hope everyone had an amazing day with family and friends!

I am continuing to post house projects where I have used some of the Designer House pieces in my own home.

Project #3~Cable Spool
I literally walked into a Lowe's and walked out with this beauty. : )
Free, functional and, to me, adorable.
My new office bookshelf!

Love all the colors.

and the details of the spool.
Perfect place to display my little treasures.

BEFORE

This is how I used it at the Designer House... next to the most beautiful reclaimed teak from Indonesia and it holds the lovely and transparent Kartell Bourgie lamp. I dig the idea that something so insignificant works with these fine pieces.

Until next week... Project #4~ Wallpaper Accent!

Have a good one!

House Project #2~Recovered Otto!

In the next couple of posts I will introduced some of my favorite accents from the room I designed, for the RSOL Designer House, into the Molitor household!

1st Project: Doak's Art by Eddie P.

2nd Project: Recover ottoman

When I put Doak's art piece up I knew recovering an existing ottoman would be the perfect way to tie it together...

I had two pieces of leftover fabric from the pillows I had made for the D.H., thanks to U-FAB!
I ended up using the horizontal design over the peacock for the ottoman. The peacock will be perfect for an accent pillow on my sofa!

Perfect size!

All you need is a staple gun.

And wrap it like a present!

I dig it.

Have a good one!

House Project #1~Doak's art is up!

For the next few weeks I'll be posting house projects I've been working on...
First up... Doak's art from Eddie P. aka Red All Over!

Doak posing next to his masterpiece... you can kinda see the scale. HUGE!

The original ottoman I covered isn't going to cut it with the new art...

I have these tiny pieces of fabric left over from the Designer House pillows I had made. Perfect to use to cover the ottoman and another for a pillow.
That's next weeks project!

BEFORE

Der finding the studs in the wall...
The visual of this thing falling because of 3 kitties jumping around and a toddler hanging out below isn't pretty so we needed to reinforce the piece. Der screwed hooks to the wall and eyes to the frame.

AFTER
What's one more window... I love it!

Have a good one!
